Wudang Tai Chi is from southern China. Tai Chi's origins are not precisely known and are clouded in mystery. There are some sources which give some sort of history, though it is may not be 100% clear, where the source of Tai Chi really originated. Around 12th to 14AD lived a Taoist, named Chang San Feng, and it is said by many that he is the father of Tai Chi Chaun. Yet again the evidence is not 100% certain. As we well know, man has been at war with himself for over 25 centuries, hence the development of fighting skills, evolving from generation to generation. Tai Chi Chaun has very profound spiritual elements, hence I feel that it source has the touch of a man of acute spiritual awareness. Yet again it is just another opinion.
Tai Chi is a series of flowing connecting movements which stimulates and massages the internal system. It concentrates the mind and invigorates the nervous system. Of course hidden within the movements are self defence and fighting applications (San Shou). So Tai Chi is an overall body, mind and spirit art in itself.
Chi Kung & Nei Kung are complementary to Tai Chi Chaun (Supreme Ultimate Fist) and without it one does not fully benefit, from doing Tai Chi alone. Chi Kung is simple, but powerful if practiced regularly. Involving a series of simple standing and moving postures, which have many health benefits. Nei Kung a deeper form of Chi Kung, it helps strengthens the body for fighting, plus has many other health benefits. One should learn Nei Kung by a qualified teacher only, due to the profound effects it has to the body.
There are 3 weapon forms practiced along side this system of Wudang Tai Chi, they are Spear, Sabre & Sword.
Please be aware it takes time to learn Tai Chi, so allow yourself the time to learn
